Open Top Pancake with Body Shield - J111

Ordered Pancake holster and belt. Both items materials and workmanship are of exceptional quality. Both items received less than 3 weeks after order.

Jason called me on Monday after I placed the order. We talked through the specifics and he let me know he would be finishing my holster in a few days. That's well short of the lead time of 5 weeks on his website.

But there it was in my mailbox today. Really like how this was made. I have always tried to standardize my gear. So I wore the same gear to compete as I did for EDC. Most of the time, it really didn't matter. Until I had to sit in the Jeep to drive any distance at all. Competition gear is NOT made to be comfortable for that. It's designed to help me shave .25 seconds per draw off my time. :-) But when it comes to a holster for a 4" Wilson Combat EDC X9 1911 with a Streamlight TLR-3, my normal competition holster company coudn't provide that combination.

THIS leather pancake is designed for all day carry and lets me carry with the light attached. It is so comfortable to wear seated. I'm sitting here typing this in my office chair and don't really feel the holster at all. Happier by the day with this rig.

I bought one of Jason's holsters thru an online auction site and loved it, bought this J111 for my dad for Christmas and Jason made sure it was here on time. Funny thing is, my dad liked my black holster better than this brown one, I am so in awe of Jason's work I gladly swapped with my dad. Now *I* am loving the J111, glad I hadn't ordered the matching SMP already (need brown now!).

I purchased this holster for my dad, because he liked the one I already owned. I have had mine for 5 years now, and it just gets better with age. It has a fast break in period, and forms nicely to your person. Tight fit since it's open on top, with a solid 'click' when you seat your gun into it for retention. But lightning fast on the draw. Probably my fastest holster. Solid stitching. After 5 years and zero maintenance, I'm guessing I have the rest of my life to enjoy this holster. Best deal out there too. Comparative holsters of this quality go for over 100$.
